Ludlow, home to many renowned restaurants, a splendid castle and an annual festival, is just 13 miles away as is historic Church Stretton. Shrewsbury, Hereford and the Ironbridge Gorge Museum are all well worth exploring. E3311 (The Old Saw Mill) can be booked together with E3974 (Little Brampton) to sleep up to 26+18 people. Shop 2 miles, pub 0.5 miles.

Reviews
Excellent location of the Old Sawmill in the countryside of Shropshire. The use of a hot tub always appeals to us and the one in the Old Sawmill was ideally located to get the best views while enjoying a soak.

Booking a holiday in mid September we did not expect the weather to be too good, but it didn't matter with the hot tub, we used it whether it was rainy, sunny or under the stars it was idyllic, particularly watching the owls at night & the Red Kite during the afternoon. Many trips out to explore the countryside all added to our enjoyment. Certainly recommend this cottage for a great breakaway weekend or holiday.

Peaceful, uncrowded and still largely devoted to farming, this is one of England’s most unspoilt counties, as you’ll discover during a break in one of our holiday cottages in Shropshire. Take a walk on the Long Mynd a dramatic ridge which stands high over the landscape, then pop in to the small village of Church Stretton which nestles in the valley below for a hearty tea.
The county town of Shrewsbury sits on a hill almost completely surrounded by a loop in the river Severn. Here you’ll find Elizabethan timber-framed buildings and handsome Georgian terraces. Shropshire even has its own centre of gastronomy in the charming town of Ludlow, which boasts a number of Michelin starred restaurants as well as a profusion of specialist food shops. The splendid Norman castle at Ludlow is also well worth a visit, as is nearby Stokesay Castle, both within a short drive of our holiday cottages in Shropshire.
Seeing Shropshire today it’s hard to believe it was actually the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. You can see where it all started at Ironbridge Gorge. Don’t miss Blists Hill, which recreates life at the turn of the twentieth century.
